In the trading market, many legal issues can be raised. Tradings are based on trust basically. Have you wondered if the methods available work out well?
Sellers and buyers only meet in the virtual world and they probably will never meet in real world. Some sellers with low moral values make full use of this advantage and cheat money from other players. Hacking cases are always seen in game too. And these problems are difficult to solve, but it reflects our real society. If there is no laws in real world, these crimes will actually happen.
Besides those cyber crimes happened in the virtual worlds, real world cases are happening outside due to game's conflict too. According to the BBC, a Chinese online gamer (A) stabbed another gamer (B) to death when A found out that B sold his virtual sword, "Dragon Sabre", to a third party for 7200 yuan. (Source from BBC) Scary, isn't it?
We people sometimes display different characteristics in front of people while deep inside our heart, we wanted to do something very different from what we are doing everyday. People are addicted to MMOPRG games because they lack of something in real life. They find confidence in games as another person. In MoSiang, there are many old men who are working boringly to pass a day. In games they can be superheroes with strong equipments who looks attractive with the nice armors. Some are students lack of excitement in life transforming into crazy killers in game. Other than that, there are people who find romance in games when they never expect to find one in real life.
Are you addicted to online games? (Yes I am.. XD)

These questions are worth thinking. Actually we can improve our life in many ways. The process of overcoming the obstacles and solving problems are the main part of our life. Get a life then.

lily...in my opinion,i think no matter how "real" the life in the game goes on, it is still juz a very "immersive" thing...say if..how are we going to trust the sellers/buyers that we meet in the game? to trade with them with our e-money or whatsoever terms? even if there is really an establishment of sales contracts, or even international business contract, purchasing agreement, etc; they are still just a "fake" thing..i don think people are going to take it seriously, as everything is just like an "illusion" there..maybe the most beneficial one is people can perhaps learn something like "obligation","terms and conditions","rights","compensation" those legal terms through these contracts made..
you are right that people in real life now are living in kind of like a vacuous life, they couldnt just simply show up the real them in front of people easily, especially those who are in the workplace now. therefore, virtual world can perhaps give them a "private and personal" corner to "release" their stress there,be whom they want to be, can be real of them, or even fake than in d real life,etc. however, they are still highly advised not to indulge too over in the virtual world until they couldnt get themselves away from the "illusion".sooner or later,they wouldnt know what they are doing,where they are,or seriously say,they might even become personality disorder.
therefore, it is very important for virtual world gamers to control themselves, try to get away when necessary,just don be too dependent on this virtual game to release their stress,etc. can do more healthy activities to express themselves as well,such as sports, drawing,listening to music,if they don trust people around them,or have no one to listen to them; instead of just sink deep into the virtual world running away from the real life..
I really agree with the things mentioned by aida. In my own view, spend a reasonable time in liberation is good thing but if the players spending too much time in playing game it will bring lots of negative impact to them. Such like for the one who still is student, they will not enough time sleep, doing their homework and lastly they will fail in their final test. For the one whom already in the working field they also will face the similar things as student. In this 21st century playing game not the only ways for us to relive stress, such like do some exercise or go shopping also might become one of the way to relive our stress.

I'm not a gaming addict but I do have friends like that around me. They claim that they only play games to release stress, but from what I observe, releasing stress is no longer the force behind cause slowly they build their life on playing games.
Playing online games can of course satisfy our alter ego, for instance the famous Second Life game. Whatever we can't be in real life we can be in virtual world. We can simply be whoever or even whatever we want in virtual world, some people use that as a tool to release stress from overwhelming daily work; some people build their life on it.
It is good that gamers play games to release stress, at least shooting zombies is better than hurting someone in real life; but when one has got addicted to playing online games, all they do is run to virtual world when they face problems in real world cause virtual world has become their shelter, and everything's almost perfect in virtual world. If they keep building their lives in virtual world, sooner or later they will become less connected with reality and that is bad.
hey nga li..thanks for supporting my points..hehe..know wat, especially for students rite, they actually have limited allowance to spend. if they are over addicted to the online game such as mosiang, which involves the needs of using real money to buy the virtual goods, might cause some problems as well. for instance, they might cheat their parents for more allowance just to buy the things in mosiang, or find other illegal source of income in order to get what they want in the virtual game, etc. if gamers do not know how to behave themselves in this field, this kind of virtual games might be a harm for them. nonetheless, if individuals are smart enough in this field, they can definitely use mosiang as their source of income as well, earn money via this virtual game as mentioned by shirley in her previous reply.
From my own opinion from playing online game, online game really show the ugly side of our society. There are scammers and hacker everywhere looking to make a profit from scamming others, they then sell the item scam or hacked from others for real money.
Online game even make some people give up on their real life. Such people are a sad case and hopeless group. These keyboard heroes pick up fight inside the game but when asked to meet up at somewhere then they are hiding like a turtle. Have you ever experience this?
